Papacitos owner Cody Utzman brings the organic grocery into a manageable bodega-size configuration, complete with an eco-friendly business model. The deli is part bakery, part grocery, part coffee bar, part restaurant; an eclectic chimera that goes along well with its neighborhood of Greenpoint. Utzman and Co. strive towards sustainability and feature as many local products as possible. An in-house pastry chef makes fresh bakery items while an vegetarian chef supplies things like Vegan pasta and prepared meals. A window bar and an organic salad bar round out this phenomenal take on a classic New York institution.
