The most elegant lingerie on the market. La Perla is the original and best name in high-end lingerie. For skivvies in the style of Old Hollywood Glamour, there is no better place to look. They also offer a number of sexy, tight-fitting dresses and bodices that are to die for.

Balenciaga New York Men

SoHo

Undoubtedly one of the coolest names in fashion, and therefore one of the chicest shops you'll find in NYC. Balenciaga isn't quick to open their own boutiques because of a desire for exclusivity, but New York is one of the lucky few to have one. This French fashion house, now run by Nicolas Ghesquiere, is perhaps most famous for its Motorcycle bag, seen on the arms of many, many celebrities. You can spot loads of knock-offs on the street but for the real deal, and the best leather bags on the market, Balenciaga is your best bet.

Oliver Peoples — SoHo

SoHo

A veritable treasure trove of all kinds of eyeglasses and sunglasses…and a definite favorite of the rich and famous.

Barbara Feinman Millinery

East Village

Combining elegance of design with impeccable workmanship, a fashion-forward eye—and a dash of whimsy—Barbara Feinman's hats are sought after by a growing and varied clientele. After selling for several years to a number of exclusive retailers—from Barney's to small specialty stores around the country—Feinman established her own atelier and shop in June 1998 in the heart of New York's East Village. Operating out of a tiny, golden-lit, romantic space, Feinman has earned a reputation as a talented milliner who can create just the right hat for each client. Barbara Feinman Millinery is one of very few New York shops where hats are actually made on the premises. The hats are hand-blocked and hand-crafted from start to finish, using techniques and equipment that have scarcely changed since the 19th Century.

Zero + Maria Cornejo

NoHo

Zero + Maria Cornejo opened in 1998 as a purely retail concept when, prompted by a desire to re-connect with the core of her ideas about design, cutting and garment construction, Chilean-born designer Maria Cornejo transformed a raw space in New York?s Nolita into a very personal store and atelier named Zero.

Carol's Daughter

Fort Greene

Serving up all-natural beauty products, from perfumes and skin care to lotions and soaps, Carol's Daughter is an extraordinary find for the beauty- and eco-conscious.

SoHo

Purveyors of only the finest—and most expensive—high-fidelity audio equipment, Bang & Olufsen serves the discriminating audiophile with perfection, while carrying enough reasonably priced goodies to bring in the average shopper.

Ann Taylor — Madison Ave

Ann Taylor’s rich heritage dates to 1954, when founder Robert Liebeskind, the son of a dressmaker, opened his first shop. Back then, “Ann Taylor” represented a best-selling dress style that had been gifted to the storeowner by his father. The “Ann Taylor” design embodied the well-dressed woman, and the Ann Taylor legacy was born. By 1983, Ann Taylor had grown from a regional, primarily East Coast brand, to a national brand with 47 stores across the United States. Today, the Ann Taylor brand is represented by three divisions: Ann Taylor Stores, Ann Taylor LOFT, and Ann Taylor Factory. At the end of Fiscal 2007, Ann Taylor operated 869 stores throughout the United States, District of Columbia and Puerto Rico and generated more than $2.3 billion in sales.
