Pizza Gruppo

They put the "thin" in thin crust. Serving up wafer thin pizza with fresh ingredients. Variety of pastas and salads also available. Local favorite, possibly because they offer free pizza with purchase of pitcher of beer or bottle of wine before 6:30 (and all night on Mondays)!

Financier Patisserie – Midtown

Midtown

While the sandwiches are delectable, it's the excellent range of patisserie that makes Financier worth a special visit.

Cafe Habana

It all depends on how you view Cuban food, but this isn't your Uptown Cuban dive, it's not Havana Chelsea, and it's definitely not your Little Havana coffee joint from Miami. It's the endlessly-chic, always-busy corner of Nolita, where the overflow crowds either come from or go to nearby Cafe Gitane.

JG Melon

Upper East Side

This burger and beer joint has been popular ever since it was established in 1972 by original owners Jack O'Neill and George Mourges, the "J" and "G" of J.G. Melon. Lively crowds, a decent tap selection and an even better burger, makes Melon's a winner.

Mombar

Astoria

Chef Moustafa El Sayed's Arabian masterpiece, a melange of the finest decor outside of the Middle East with fare to match.

Clinton St. Baking Company

Lower East Side

The secret to success of the Clinton Street Baking Company's phenomenal popularity as a weekend brunch destination is the fine baking done here.Their signature fluffy pancakes are nothing short of heavenly in their airy-ness, and the buttermilk biscuits served here are also to die for. You can also design your own cake and order it for pick-up—48 hours advanced notification required. New Yorkers would be surprised to know how many dining establishments feature cakes baked here.

Merchants Cigar Bar

One of NYC's few licensed "Cigar Bars", Merchants NY is the creator and leader in "Living Room" dining and drinking. Featuring two working fireplaces, one in its opulently styled living room and the other in the exquisite Brandy Bar and Cigar Lounge, which comfortably holds 100 guests with live Jazz every night. Enjoy top shelf cigars and spirits, as well as an eclectic Cigar Bar dining menu.

Le Relais de Venise L'Entrecote

Midtown

Parsian steakhouse with a very focused menu. That being: a green salad with walnuts dressed with mustard vinaigrette followed by steak frites, served with a secret recipe sauce. So you won't be paralyzed by choice, other than indicating how you want your steak prepared!

Fatty Fish

Upper East Side

Michelin-recommended, Asian-inflected American cuisine on the Upper East Side, serving contemporary cuisine that brings new meaning to fusion cooking, incorporating a long list of traditional Eastern herbs and spices to create unique dishes that are anything but traditional. Acclaimed chef Roy Lamberty brings his considerable acumen to bare balancing the texture and flavor of Fatty Fish's cuisine with the modernistic Zen decor.

La Maison Du Chocolat

Self-styled "chocolate artists," La Maison du Chocolat features signature chocolates and pastries in the inimitable French style.

Loreley Biergarten

Lower East Side

Fine German cuisine in a large heated outdoor atmosphere on the Lower East Side. Tweleve German biers on tap and the expected compliment of wurst, schnitzels, kase and pretzels. From mid-September to the end of October it is THE place to engage in Oktoberfest shenanigans.

Momofuku Noodle Bar

East Village

A lot of fuss about a tiny place where you sit shoulder-to-shoulder slurping down noodles, but the real treats are pork-centric dishes and seasonal specialties. Menu changes daily, but the gastric delights are truly numerous. If you reserve in advance you can enjoy Momofuku's legendary fried chicken - offered as the noodle bar’s sole large format meal. It feeds 4-8 people. the meal includes two whole fried chickens, one southern style and one Korean style, and it comes with mu shu pancakes, baby carrots, red ball radishes, bibb lettuce, four sauces and an herb basket. Guests are encouraged to eat as they please, from making wraps with the pancakes to eating the chicken straight-up. The southern style chicken is fried with a buttermilk and old bay batter. the korean style chicken is triple fried and served with a light spicy glaze.

Haru Sushi — Theater District

A veritable cavalcade of the finest beef, chicken, and seafood you could imagine, Morton's serves meals designed to bring down animals far large than humans with flavors that could by themselves topple ordinary steakhouses.

D.O.C. Wine Bar

Williamsburg

One of Williamsburg's best haunts, the DOC Wine Bar offers a rustic setting and an unbelievable selection of wines and various Italian dishes.

Ess-A-Bagel - Gramercy

East Village

We really love these outsized bagels, especially when they are hot. They have all the qualities of ideal bagels, often imitated by inferior bakeries. While the array of schmears you can get here is quite vast, we usually stick to butter or cream cheese, all the more to enjoy the tasty bagels au naturel.

Lorenzo's

Bulls Head

A fine dining experience within the well-appointed Hilton Garden Inn. Mr. Nicotra's vision of an oasis in the otherwise industrial West Shore comes to life with close attention to food, service and atmosphere (and community service). Call for info on cabaret performances. Pet friendly, after all, it's named in memory of their beloved doggy.

Sant Ambroeus — West Village

West Village

An imported favorite from Milan, Sant Ambroeus serves up Italian cuisine and atmosphere in heaps—a recent renovation has added a distinctly continental, Milanese sexiness to the space.

Kossar's Bialys

Lower East Side

Kossar's, opened in 1936, is a Lower East Side institution, and stands atop the field in NYC's hyper-competitive bagel wars. Fresh, delicious bagels of many varieties, with the proper blend of crispy exterior and chewy interior. The classic panoply of spreads and toppings also available. Kossar is also famous for its namesake bialys, another type of bread brought by immigrants from Poland. Renovation in 2015 freshened up the joint, but it maintains its old school charm, and although offering a much expanded menu has not led to a compromise in the quality of its signature products - the bagel and the bialy!
