Jacob Javits Convention Center Details

Jacob K. Javits Center is New York City's largest and busiest convention center located on West 34th Street on Manhattan's west side. Designed by I.M. Pei and partners and built in 1986, it is named for New York United States Senator Jacob Javits, who served in the U.S. from 1957—1981, and is operated and maintained by the New York City Convention Center Operating Corporation.

Each year the 675,000 sq. ft. Javits Center hosts dozens of major fairs, tradeshows, and conventions, bringing together thousands of companies, trade organizations, retailers, and other business professionals from all over the globe. Events such as The International Boat Show, the East Coast MACWorld Expo, The New York International Art Expo, and The National Retail Federation Trade Show, among others take place here every year featuring the latest technologies, products, and developments in a wide spectrum of industries and cultural areas.

From corporate meetings to product launches to entertainment events the Jacob Javits Center can accommodate groups as small as 10 people and as large as 3000. With 100 meeting rooms, a theater hall and three unique special event venues the NYCCCO can meet virtually any event requirements. In addition it is important to note that the Jacob Javits Center's revolutionary space frame structure is a New York City tourist attraction in and of itself and well worth visiting during a stay in the city.
